MyCharge CES 2015 + 2017
We were approached by our client MyCharge, producers of portable batteries and other charging accessories, to design their booth for CES 2015. I was assigned to manage the project and coordinate everything including initial planning, concept development, client interface and asset review, extreme hi-res graphics output, graphics proofing, display production, and even guided booth setup for 2 days prior to the show opening to the public. Since our team had designed many of the the newest products in the 2015 product offering, as well as the packaging for the entire product line, we were perfectly positioned to showcase each product’s unique features and capabilities. We designed the booth to flow from start to finish and each product line was displayed with theme graphics that aligned with the core values of the products within. For example, one of the new product lines targeted women and was meant to be a fashion accessory as well as providing power for your phone in a bind. We designed the display to juxtapose the brightly colored and patterned chargers, with high fashion imagery to clearly communicate their core theme visually, without the need for wordy descriptions. Dummy samples of each charger were made with embedded magnets to snap to the wall on the display so that buyers could easily remove to take a closer look. Each line of products had its own unique and engaging wall and product displays, and everyone that managed to gain access to the private booth, loved the experience.

MyCharge returned to the CES floor in 2017, and specifically requested that I take the lead due to my proven track record and the buzz around the show generated by our initial booth design from 2015. For the 2017 booth, we leveraged many more props to help reinforce the themes of the different product lines. For example, the updated line of rugged/waterproof chargers were showcased in a mock camping setup including themed graphics in the background and on the floor to make the experience more realistic and immersive. The shelves for these chargers were live edge Canadian red cedar which added another sensory touch with its incredible scent.
