Revlon Vapor Dryer Packaging

Hair dryers used to be a large part of our design business before a change of ownership at one of our largest clients, Helen Of Troy. The Revlon Ultrasonic Hair Dryer was an innovative design concept that was brought to HOT by an independent inventor. He had come up with a way to take the ultrasonic emitter from a humidifier and build it into a hair dryer to dispense moisturizers and serums via ultrasonic mist. It was a fun and challenging task to integrate the liquid cartridge system into the top of the barrel in a way that still looked sleek, integrated and feminine. Since this was such a unique and innovative feature, I was then tasked with designing the structure and graphics for its retail packaging to help showcase the dryer and the included set of cartridges. Despite being a relatively low cost box structure, the use of a full sized front flap provides ample graphics space, as well as providing a product reveal to take the opening experience beyond the competition in a standard 6 sided box.
